Beijing using facial-recognition technology to stop toilet paper thieves

Beijing is combatting toilet paper thieves by installing facial-recognition cameras in public bathrooms. One of Beijing’s major tourist sites, Tiantan Park, had its visitors raid public restrooms to steal toilet paper. With the new installment, guests will only receive a 60 centimeter section of paper after having their face scanned. The park stated that toilet paper use in the tourist area has dropped from 20 rolls to four rolls in three days.
