Rangers recover huge cache of arms inside Karachi’s park

KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers in the wee hours of Tuesday morning recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition during a raid at Go Ash Park on University Road here, ARY News reported.

According to the sources, the Rangers on an intelligence tip-off conducted the raid to secure the city from a major terror plot.

A spokesman of the paramilitary agency confirmed that weapons, wrapped in plastic bags were found hidden in Ticket House of the park.

Recovered weapons include AK-47 and M-16 rifles, hand grenades, and huge cache of ammunition.

In a statement spokesman said that the paramilitary agency on an intelligence tip-off came to know that Inbisat Malik, a son-in-law of MQM-London leader Mohammad Anwar, had kept a large consignment of arms and munitions with the help of the terrorists in Go Ash Adventure Park.

The arms consignment was to be used for spreading lawlessness and terrorism in the city, the spokesman said.

Legal action will be taken against accused Inbisat Malik under Sindh Arms Act, the spokesman added.

Separately, eight Afghan nationals were detained by Police in Rizvia who were allegedly staying illegally in the area.
