According to Forbes’ recently published list of billionaires, Donald Trump has lost a good chunk of money and positioning since the election.
The magazine estimates his worth at $3.5 billion and ranks him at number 544, 220 spots lower than his previous placement.
It also notes his fortune has, despite increases in some hotel bookings, club fees, and penthouse prices, taken a $200 million hit.
Forbes suggests a number of reasons for the loss, including the $25 million settlement of a Trump University lawsuit, his dumping of a number of stocks, and tens of millions in donations to his own presidential campaign.
While his financial worth declined, the billionaires included in the list experienced an average wealth increase of 16%, with Bill Gates taking the top spot.
The list also saw its greatest membership surge in about 3 decades, adding 233 names.
Donald Trump has a history of being at odds with Forbes’ assessments of his wealth.
During his presidential campaign, Trump asserted he was worth $10 billion, not the magazine’s then-reported $3.7 billion.
