Amy Schumer Blames Alt-Right Trolls for Negative Reviews
  • 7 years ago
Amy Schumer is saying that the reason her Netflix special is getting negative reviews is because of alt-right trolls.

To be honest, we can appreciate her choice to stand up for her work… but we actually watched the special. And we didn’t think it was funny.

But we’re allowed to think that. And is it possible that there are other people out there who think the same thing?

Yeah. Probably so.

The thing is Amy, you’ve been doing the same shtick for a while now, and maybe those people leaving bad reviews just think you’re better than that. Maybe they know you’re funnier, and just didn’t love what they saw.

But to claim that there’s a giant conspiracy to tank your career because you read something on the internet kinda feels like you’re grasping at straws. And we don’t think it’s going to help your cause in the long run.

But we want to be clear: no one here is suggesting you haven’t done great things. We’re not trying to take away your accomplishments, and we applaud your achievements and support your voice.

But remember – you’re an artist. And you put yourself out there, and with that comes judgment of your work. It’s been like that forever and will continue to be.

Our advice: write some new material and move on.

It’s what all the great ones do.
