Lawyers concerned about El Chapo's health

'El Chapo' has been at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan since his extradition in late January. The 59-year-old was investigated for his involvement in one of the country's largest drug empires and he escaped twice from a Mexican prison. His lawyers are concerned that the conditions of his prison unit are deteriorating his mental and physical health. He experiences auditory hallucinations, has difficulty breathing, and suffers from headaches and sore throats. Amnesty International has also commented on the conditions of his space, referring to them as "inhuman," "cruel," and "degrading." If his trial ends in a conviction, he will most likely not be able to join the general prison population.
