Alzheimer's claims twice as many lives in the U.S. as it did in 2002, according to a new report. The study also found that more than five million adults over the age of 65 suffer from the disease. Nearly one million seniors are likely to develop the disease alone in 2017. By 2050, approximately 14 million will have Alzheimer's. Around 200,000 adults in the U.S., who are younger than 65, also have the disease. Alzheimer's is the fifth leading cause of death among seniors and is in the top 10 deadly diseases.
