Coroner: George Michael Died From Natural Causes

George Michael died from natural causes related to his heart and liver, this according to reports.

The 53-year-old, who was found on dead on his bed on Christmas Day, appeared to be suffering from myocarditis – which is an inflammation in or around the heart, often caused by infection.

The Coroner of Oxfordshire said the precise cause of death was dialated cardiomyopathy – a heart muscle disease that stretches the muscles and thins them so blood flow in the body is restricted. And apparently it can be inherited but can also be triggered by excessive drinking.

As of yet, it’s still unclear if alcohol played a part.

It’s no secret that George suffered from alcohol and drug addiction over the years… and in the months leading up to his passing he was seen gaining a significant amount of weight.

The singer’s body will now be returned to his family ahead of a planned funeral.
