Exxon says it will spend $20B on Gulf Coast projects

Exxon Mobil just announcement that it will be investing $20 billion through 2022 to expand its oil refining plants on the U.S. Gulf Coast. The incoming funding is expected to create around 35,000 temporary construction jobs and 12,000 permanent jobs. While some of the expansions began as early as 2013, the company decided to extend the timeline. President Donald Trump, whose secretary of state is former Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, praised the company for its efforts. Many of the permanent jobs are expected to pay more than $100,000 per year, according to Reuters.
