This Angel Helps Immigrant Field Workers Live A Better Life!

"Most immigrants are invisible to us" says Judy Lucas, President and Founder of Friends Of Fieldworkers, Inc, but this is something she's working on fixing. In Ventura County, CA alone there are over $2 billion worth of exports that are picked by immigrant field workers, making them an essential part of the California economy.

With the goal of helping more people become involved in immigrants's lives, making friendships, and supporting the field workers of Ventura County, California, husband and wife duo, Judy and Ted Lucas founded Friends of Fieldworkers in 2013 in response to the Oxnard Fire of October 4, 2013, where dozens of field workers and their families lost everything.

Most of the families whose homes were destroyed by the fire worked in the fields and they were left to fend for themselves. They needed food, clothing, furniture, and other essentials that they couldn't afford. Judy stepped in and has been advocating for the field workers and their families ever since! She's been so influential in the field worker's lives that she has even helped a student pursue her dream of attending college.

Judy leaves us with an important piece of advice, "Treat people like you would have hoped your immigrant family was treated."
