Military Flare Lands on a Florida Beach

Philip Petree was walking along Boca Raton Beach in Florida with Kathleen on February 27 when he saw an unexploded flare. This video shows the moments before local police arrived and carried out a controlled explosion on the devicePhilip was able to apply his military training in order to successfully defuse the situation. He put his foot down on the flare in order to prevent it from exploding and proceeded to call 911.
Firemen wanted Philip to step off the device, but Philip refused because otherwise they would loose control. A quick call to the military confirmed that this was a military device and the device was still active, the local police bomb team and an Army bomb disposal unit was sent in order to detonate the device, according to the uploader.
