The Reason Emma Watson Won't Take Fan Selfies Anymore

We’ve seen Emma Watson get straight up mobbed by fans before, so it’s no wonder she’s explaining to Vanity Fair magazine why she doesn’t do selfies with fans on the streets anymore.
She tells the magazine, “For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life or not. If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters. They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with. I just can’t give that tracking data.”
Emma is in a weird situation because she has to balance being a polite, successful actress in the limelight that still also has to deal with an alarming amount of obsessed Harry Potter fans.
She tells Vanity Fair, “I have met fans that have my face tattooed on their body. I’ve met people who used the Harry Potter books to get through cancer.”
Emma explains that she doesn’t mind answering a million Harry Potter questions, it’s only the pictures that are off limits… What can we say? It’s the beauty and the beast of fame.
