Iran launches naval drills amid rising US tensions

Iran launched the final stage of their naval drills in the Gulf and the Indian Ocean Sunday to enhance their defense capabilities. President Trump previously warned Tehran of rising tensions after its ballistic missile test on Jan. 29. A TV report noted two-day maneuver covers about 772,000 square miles in the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean. A U.S. Navy destroyer fired warning shots only last month at four Iranian fast-attack vessels near the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet in Bahrain did not comment if it monitored the drill.
