Rihanna can add another honor to her list of achievements… humanitarian.

The 29-year-old Barbadian beauty has been named Harvard University’s 2017 Humanitarian of Year for her philanthropic work. And she’ll receive the award during a ceremony on the Cambridge, Massachusetts campus in the days to come.

A spokesperson from the college said Rihanna has charitably built a state of the art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown Barbados.

So yeah, it sounds like she absolutely deserves the award.

Just a month before, Rihanna shed her pop star image and toured classrooms and met with students during a charity trip in Malawi on behalf of her Clara Lionel Foundation.

She is also working as the ambassador for charities Global Citizen and Global Partnership for Education.

Back in 2015 she was quoted saying that giving back is important to her and it should be important to everyone. She added that if you have the ability to help and lend a hand, no matter how big or small, you should definitely make that your responsibility.
