Russia's UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin dies suddenly in New York

Vitaly Churkin, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, died Monday morning in Manhattan at the age of 64. Churkin, who would have turned 65 on Tuesday, represented Russia during the country's turmoil with the West. The ambassador died suddenly at work. The cause of death is not yet known. "The outstanding Russian diplomat died in harness." Churkin's death comes as tensions between the U.S. and Russia have become increasingly high over the past few months.
