Trump On Flynn: ‘Illegal Leaks’ Are ‘Real Story’

President Trump seemed to suggest in a tweet Tuesday that Flynn's alleged offenses are less important than the means by which the media obtained information about them.
Caught up in a whirlwind of insider reports regarding premature, sanctions-related, and misrepresented talks with Russian officials, now former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn tendered his resignation on Monday night, reports the New York Times.
President Trump seems to suggest in a tweet Tuesday that Flynn's alleged offenses are less important than the means by which the media obtained information about them.
Trump tweeted, “The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington? Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N.Korea etc?”
That is, of course, unknown at this time, but White House insiders did come out in significant numbers to inform the media of Flynn’s wrongdoing, notes The Hill.
Those conversations revealed that Flynn had reportedly broken protocol – and possibly laws – when he discussed sensitive matters with Russia prior to officially becoming the national security adviser.
Further, he failed to accurately report the content of those talks to other key members of the Trump administration.
