Jake Gyllenhaal Helps Reopen Broadway Theatre in New York City
  • 7 years ago
Jake Gyllenhaal is so artsy when he wants to be!

And we saw him at the Hudson Theatre in New York City, cutting the ribbon and reopening the Broadway theatre that hasn’t hosted a production in nearly 50 years.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Gyllenhaal says “I can’t stress enough how important it is to have joy in this world and that’s what this space is and that’s what this show is all about.”

Gyllenhaal stars in, “Sunday in the Park with George,” the first production since its reopening.

Along with his name on the playbill, the actor’s name will also be added to a plaque that commemorates the Hudson’s reopening, which first opened its doors in 1903.

Sure, Gyllenhaal might be in big screen blockbusters, but actions like this suggest that he’s a true thespian at heart.
