Researchers at the University of Illinois and Caltech have cobbled together a lightweight flying device inspired by the Chiroptera family we know, love, and sometimes write horror novels about. The Bat Bot weighs all of 3.3 ounces, but still has multiple joints and an on-board computer to allow it to turn and dive. And turn and dive it does, as the footage shows. No word yet about a movie adaptation.
