Crash Test Dummies Get Hit With Drones To Keep Humans Safe

by Jeff DonlanResearchers at Virginia Tech are investigating the risk of injury from a drone collision. They attached sensors to a crash test dummy and repeatedly crashed a drone into it, measuring the force of each collision. The data will assist the Federal Aviation Administration in developing regulations for the unmanned aircraft. The FAA could require drones to have bumpers, enclosed rotors, or airbags. Until a decision is made, researchers can keep crashing drones into dummies for our amusement.
