Homeless people stories: Texas teenagers help out crying homeless man in Chick-fil-A

CORPUS, TEXAS— Viral video posted to Facebook captures the moment three kind teenager turn a homeless man’s frown upside down.

The man, identified as Eddie, was sitting crying in a Chick-Fil-A. He was trying to throw enough change together for a meal.

That’s when teenager Ryan Cook and friends, Joshua Mechell and Alberto Montiel saw him. They decided to help him out and buy him a gift card for the restaurant.

Cook wrote about the incident in a Facebook post accompanying the video.



Then they extended their kindness even further and told Eddie to stay put. Next, they surprised him with gifts from a nearby Dicks store. Cook writes that they bought him a jacket, shirts, hats and a first aid kit.

Ryan posted the video to Facebook over the weekend and it’s been viewed nearly over 9.6 million times.

In text accompanying the post, he said, “Just setting an example for everyone else. Be selfless and do good for others, then the world would be a better place for everyone.”

According to AOL, the guys next hope to treat him to a meal on Super Bowl Sunday.
