Crash.net looks back at Mercedes' key moments over the 2016 F1 season as the manufacturer once again dominates and Nico Rosberg causes an upset by defeating Lewis Hamilton in the fight for the 2016 title.
Nico Rosberg's flawless start to 2016 was halted in the most dramatic way when he collided with Lewis Hamilton and the pair crashed out on lap one of the Spanish Grand Prix.
That sparked a Hamilton revival as he clawed back the points deficit to lead into the summer break. But Rosberg rallied again and after Hamilton's engine blow up in Sepang it became the German's world title to lose.
He sealed the 2016 F1 world championship in climatic circumstances by finishing in second place in Abu Dhabi right behind Hamilton but crucially ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. The F1 world champion retired just days after.
