MTA won't raise subway fares to $3 but costs are still going up

The MTA board voted Wednesday on the proposed $3 price jump for subway rides and decided to keep the base fare flat. The fare on March will remain at $2.75 but round-trip bonuses will suffer costing $2.62 per ride rather than $2.48. The weekly unlimited MetroCard will increase to $32, from $31, and a 30-day pass will increase to $121 from $116.50. The fare hike is set to begin on March 19.
