Cisco Systems acquires AppDynamics Inc. for $3.7 billion

Cisco Systems Inc. agreed to acquire AppDynamics Inc. for $3.7 billion, buying out the software maker before it goes public. Cisco plans to add the software that helps monitor and fine-tune the performance of business systems. The software maker, which is based in San Fransisco, initially scheduled its first public offering on Wednesday, according to Bloomberg. The acquisition will be paid in cash as well as equity awards, Cisco announced in a statement.
