Stephen Colbert set to host the 2017 Emmys

CBS has pegged Stephen Colbert to host the 69th annual Emmy Awards this fall. “Stephen is the ultimate master of ceremonies with award-winning creative talents, and as we’ve seen the past few months, he has a fearless passion for live television.” The nod for The Late Show host can be seen as a sign of support from the network after Colbert took over David Letterman in 2015, enduring some rocky ratings in the process. The primetime Emmys will be broadcast Sept. 17 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Nominations will be announced July 13.
