Kansas City Royals pitcher Ventura killed in car crash

Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura was killed in a traffic accident in the Dominican Republic Sunday morning. The 25-year-old was driving through thick fog in the San Jose de Ocoa province, authorities said. Dominican officials said they found no alcohol at the scene, according to Royals general manager Dayton Moor Ventura’s last start was Sept. 30 last season, at Kauffman Stadium against the Cleveland Indians. The funeral services for Ventura will be held on Tuesday in his hometown of Las Terrenas.
