Hypocrites constantly seek to cause disputes, disorder and unrest

ADNAN OKTAR: Hypocrites seek to hinder Islamic activities and the endeavors of Muslims. We see this in the Quran. They want to participate in every matter. However, their intention in doing so is only to cause disputes, arguments, dissent, disorder, unrest and bring Muslims' activities to a standstill. For example, there is an extremely ambitious hypocrite, who strives hard to become a revelation scribe to our Prophet (saas). When a revelation comes, he pretends he has forgotten it. Other scribes remind him of it, but this time he intentionally writes it down incorrectly. He alters the order of the revelation or omits some words. They remind him of the original revelation once more. He corrects it. His intention is to commit villainy, causing unrest and disturbance among Muslims. He says, "This is not the revelation our Prophet (saas) received. This is a previous one." In other words, he aims to raise doubts and mistrust among Muslims through such ruses. He says; "I am always by your side to support you. I am very good at fighting, I am a great warrior."  Our Prophet (saas) says, "Alright, you can come." Hypocrite responds, "I will come, but what about my family? My house will be left undefended." Our Prophet (saas) answers, "This is why we are going to war; to save your house, to save your family, wife, children. We will save everyone's families. You have a brother, he can watch over your house while you are gone. So you can come with us," says our Prophet (saas). "Alright" says the hypocrite, "I will come." You think he will take part in the Jihad. Then he says, "I am so very sorry, but I would like to say something that I could not say earlier, do you mind if we talk privately?" "Okay, what is it you wish to say?" you ask. "I do not really know how to fight," he says. And they teach him how to fight, how to hold a sword and a shield. Or they tell him he can be an archer and fight from afar. "Alright then," he says. "I will come with you." But then he complains, "Look at how hot the weather is, we cannot go out in this heat." Look at his nonstop snobbery and arrogance. He always hatches a new scheme. By saying so, he intends to implicate that the Prophet (saas) does not consider the families of Muslims. Whereas the Prophet (saas) has already thought about it and entrusted his brother with watching over his family. The Prophet (saas) is aware of the fact that he can fight as he fought in many battles before. He has also said himself that he could fight, but now he is warping what he has said out of his impertinence. He has always traded, traveled, carried out all sorts of activities under the same heat without complaining about it. Besides, the people of that region are accustomed to the heat. He says so merely out of his vileness and immorality, to raise doubt among Muslims and present the Prophet (saas) as an inconsiderate and thoughtless person. And he seeks to present himself as wise and considerate. In his own way, he is witlessly playing foolish mind games. Of course, the Prophet (saas) pretends not to understand the hypocrite's true intentions to keep him under control. And thinking that no one could see through his intentions, that fool becomes more vicious. What he does not know is that the Prophet (saas) reads him like the palm of his hand. Our Prophet (saas) says to the hypocrite, "You always trade under the heat; you travel with trade caravans. You do not shy away from physical labor even in the hardest conditions; you do everything. This is your daily routine." Hypocrite responds, "I will not be able to do so anymore. Let us go to war when it becomes cooler." Okay, let us do as you say. But this time he says, "The weather has become chilling, I might become ill." In short, he is dishonorable and disagreeable. It is the characteristic of hypocrites to disagree, to drag issues into a deadlock, to counteract, to neutralize. They are dimwitted, foolish trickster under the control of satan. But no matter what they do, Muslims always outmaneuver them. But taking precautions against their every vile activity helps Muslims gain experience and merit as well as sharpen their minds, makes them healthier and save them from a monotonous life.  Otherwise, their lives become tedious.
