Roman Polanski to preside at France's Cesar Awards

Roman Polanski Polanski won numerous awards distributed by the French Academy, including best director for Tess in 1980 and The Ghost Writer in 2011. The director will open the awards with a speech before the ceremony begins, which will be held on Feb. 24. Polanski follows in the footsteps of Claude Lellouch, who presided the awards last year. Polanski currently resides in France and cannot travel to the US, where he is wanted following his conviction of child rape in 1978.
