'Hero' martial artist leaps over counter to rescue elderly woman stuck on escalator

An impressive video has emerged from China of a martial artist who "practices kung-fu" jumping over a counter at lightning speed to rescue an elderly woman stuck on an escalator.

The CCTV footage, filmed in Yantai, Shandong Province on January 6, shows the woman tumbling over on the stairs, prompting former soldier Yu Haohan to jump out from behind his desk to save her.

He then gave her first aid but she was uninjured.
