Migrants suffer arctic conditions in freezing Belgrade

Hundreds of migrants are facing arctic conditions in Belgrade, where they are camping in derelict warehouses near the railway station. Temperatures have plummeted towards minus 20 degrees Celsius this week but up to 1,200 men are currently staying in the warehouses, mostly from Afghanistan but also Pakistan, Iraq and Iran, according to the UN Refugee Agency. While stuck in limbo after successive European nations shut their doors, many migrants don't want to go to official Serbian reception centres fearing they will be sent back.
