Lynx Strolls Close to Skiers at Colorado Resort

A ski instructor had close encounter with a lynx that strolled casually across the piste at the Purgatory Mountain Resort in Colorado on Friday, January 6.The rare animal was reportedly seen weaving past snow boarders and skiers just two weeks after a pair of lynxes were spotted on a mountain highway.
An adult female lynx was found dead on the west side of the same ski resort on Sunday. While initial examination suggested the cat was emaciated, the cause of death won’t be confirmed for a few weeks following an autopsy, Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman Joe Lewandowski told The Durango Herald.
