Alabama v Clemson National Championship: Tide and Tigers ready for rematch in CFP game of the year

TAMPA, FLORIDA — After dominating both of their opponents in the College Football Playoff semifinals, Alabama and Clemson are headed down to Tampa in a rematch of last year’s national championship game.

The Tigers are out for revenge, although it’ll be an uphill battle against undefeated Alabama.

Clemson star quarterback Deshaun Watson can do it all — including coughing it up — which hopefully he doesn’t. Wayne Gallman will look to tear up the backfield, but so will Watson. The Tigers have a solid receiving crew and definitely plan to get the ball in the hands of Mike Williams as much as possible.

The Tide have been rolling all year with true freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts. Bama’s passing is still a work in progress, but who needs to throw when you have an amazing run game. If Bo Scarbrough gets out, Clemson could be done, and he’s Alabama’s third option.

Can Watson and the Tigers bring home their first championship since 1981? Or will Alabama win its second straight national title and its fifth in eight years?
