NASA's Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan left the space agency and has moved onto "new adventures," according to a report published on Space.com. It is believed the former chief scientist left right before the Christmas holiday on December 20. Stofan first announced her departure from NASA on December 5 during a astrobiology symposium in California. “Everyone I work with is so committed to the mission of this agency – pushing back the frontiers of science and technology to accomplish great things for the nation. NASA represents the best of this country," Stofan told Tumblr in an interview. Stofan first joined the agency in 2013.
