Beach movie - satire_xvid_001

This is a brief look at the Beach genre of movies that was popular during the 60's.In particular the B grade offerings many of which were trying to emulate the success of the Gidget movies starring Sandra Dee (TV series starred Sally Field) or the series of Beach films that starred Annette Funicello & Frankie Avalon (Often the lead characters in the B films would resemble the popular afore mentioned actors). Needless to say the content of Beach Party & Gidget is wide open for satire which is what Pycho Beach Party (2000) does with there own leads resembling Gidget/Beach party characters. The B grade movies shown here as far as I can tell were not meant to be satirical or even really comedic, though I think they achieve it anyway. (The Monster & the Beach Girls is a good example as you know even from the title that it is going to worth a few laughs) Anyhow I've put some B grade clips together which I think without to much effort gives a satirical look at this B grade genre of movies from the 60's.
