NFL opts against reinstating Raiders' Aldon Smith

Aldon Smith won't be playing football for the Oakland Raiders this season after the NFL decided against reinstating him. The ex-Pro Bowler was permanently banished from the league in November following violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy. Smith's case will be revisited on March 15, 2017. The Smith news doesn't do anything to appease Raiders' fans after quarterback Derek Carr went down with a broken leg.
