Newt Gingrich On Trump's Nuclear Tweet: 'Exactly Right'

Newt Gingrich expressed his support for Donald Trump's recent tweet suggesting that the U.S. needs to "expand its nuclear capability."

A recent tweet by Donald Trump has left many wondering if we are witnessing the start of another arms race.
Speaking on the issue during an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News on Sunday, Newt Gingrich supported Trump, noting, "I think for the next president to say, 'You know, we are going to have to systematically rebuild our nuclear capability,' is exactly right."
Gingrich also said, "The truth is, the Russians have been rebuilding their nuclear capability...we have allowed ours to weaken. The Chinese have been rebuilding their nuclear capability. The North Koreans are trying to build missiles to reach the continental United States. The Iranians are trying to build a nuclear weapon."
On Thursday, the president-elect suggested that the U.S. needs to "expand its nuclear capability."
Trump tweeted, “The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”
Despite attempts by Trump’s team to clarify his statement, the president-elect reportedly told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski on Friday, “Let it be an arms race. We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all.”
