Berlin attack suspect 'shot dead in Milan' - reports

Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti is holding a news conference amid reports that the chief suspect in Monday’s truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market has been shot dead in Milan.

An international manhunt has been underway for Anis Amri since the attack which killed 12 people.

Italian news agency ANSA says Amri was shot at around 3am after being stopped by police near a Milan suburban railway station.

The German Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office says authorities there are in contact with Italian colleagues.
