Softbank's $50 billion pledge to Trump comes under fire

Japan's Softbank and their promise to President-elect Donald Trump is coming under fire now. According to The Wall Street Journal, the money promised to Trump would come from a $100 billion tech investment fund that Softbank announced with the government of Saudia Arabia in October. The money, which CEO Masayoshi "Masa" Son promised to Trump in a meeting earlier this month to create 50,000 new U.S. jobs, will be invested into Florida startup OneWeb, which aims to provide Internet access from small satellites orbiting the Earth. However, we now know, courtesy of SoftBank spokesman Matthew Nicholson, that the money will be coming entirely from the company itself.
