Rajkumar Hirani: 'Can't say if controversies were beneficial for PK or not'

Rajkumar Hirani's latest release PK has become the biggest blockbuster in the history of Indian cinema and though the movie lovers have given it a thumbs up it remained engulfed in controversies for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Hindus. While many say that the controversies helped the film to cross the 300 crore mark, Hirani says that they can't say whether it helped the film or not. At a recent awards function, when the ace filmmaker was asked if he believes that the controversies helped the film, he said, ''There is no yard stick to judge whether it has been beneficial for us or not. In a way yes, some people may have gone to see the film because of it but at many theatres the screening was stalled, so many couldn't go.'' PK stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles.
