In French prisons, freedom through reading isn't just a metaphor

Avid readers know the pleasure of escaping through literature. But for prisoners serving time across France, picking up a book can mean a great deal more: a chance to respond to literary works and, thanks to an initiative by a French non-profit, reduce their sentences in the process.
