The children form a circle and one child, (the monkey) goes to the middle and makes up a dance or movement for everyone else to imitate, then takes a bow and moves to the outside. All the children get a chance to be the monkey separately. At the end of the song all the children step in the middle to do all the new movements initiated by all the monkeys. \r
