Varun Dhawan Says Even His Father Advised Him Against Doing 'Badlapur'

Varun Dhawan, who will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in Sriram Raghavan's dark thriller Badlapur, claims that apart from his friends and well-wishers, even his father David Dhawan felt that he was taking a big risk by giving his nod to this project.
Varun, who has been mostly seen in the rom-com space till now, will be seen in a dark role in Badlapur and talking about the role, Varun said that everyone, including his father David Dhawan felt that Varun was taking a major risk in his career by playing such a role. However, Varun says that when he read the script, he knew that he had to do it, no matter what.
Badlapur, which also stars Yaami Gautam, Radhika Apte, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is slated to release on February 20.
