After 20 Years DDLJ Will Finally Have Its Last Show At Maratha Mandir

It was recently reported that Maratha Mandir, a theatre in central Mumbai, which has screened Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge for time immemorial will soon stop showing this film. The management of Maratha Mandir announced the last show of DDLJ yesterday.

Soon after, the theatre was flooded with thousands of calls and messages requesting them to continue screening the iconic film. The excutive director of the theatre Manoj Desai has said that they will screen the film for another week before taking the final call after a meeting with YRF and the distributors. Dwindling crowds, cheap tickets (priced at Rs.15 and Rs.17) as well pressure from distributors of new films prompted the management to make the announcement in the first place. Both the staff and the public have an emotional attachment to the film and this movie has become an integral part of Maratha Mandir, there will definitely be a lot of disappointment if Raj and Simran's romance comes to an end.
