Degrees aren't the only thing college students are gaining

Forget the freshman fifteen, a new study by researchers from the University of Vermont shows that college students pack on pounds over a four-year period. The study involved researchers monitoring 100 incoming freshman from the start of their college careers until the end. Information was taken on their eating habits and physical activity levels. At the conclusion of the study, researchers found that only 15 percent got the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a week. The average student gained 10 pounds and the amount of people who were considered obese went up from 23 percent to about 41 percent.
