Jay Z takes a dig at Phil Jackson while introducing LeBron James

Jay Z threw some shade at New York Knicks president Phil Jackson when introducing LeBron James as Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year. Jay Z referred to the term "posse," which Jackson previously used to describe James' business associates. The basketball player and his business partner Maverick Carter were upset by Jackson's use of the term. Jay Z said James was "the son who honors and worships his mother, Gloria. The friend who put his 'posse' in position." "We know where we come from. We do understand where we come from. The only difference between us and someone who has their MBA from Wharton or Sloan or Berkeley or Stanford is opportunity," Jay Z continued. Jackson first used the term "posse" to describe James' business associates when James left the Miami Heat.
