Om Puri CRIES & Apologises For INSULTING Army Jawan KILLED In Uri Attack

A couple of days back, veteran actor Om Puri drew flak for his insensitive comments about Indian Army soldiers (Puri had stated that no one had forced the soldiers to join the Army), who were injured and killed at Uri in the militant attack and in an exclusive interview, Puri spoke about the sequence of events that led to the controversy.

Talking about the same, Om said, “When the TV show debate was happening, everyone was getting emotionally overwhelmed and when I was asked something, I was giving my answer after preparing the response in my mind and in the middle of my reply, another question flew at me and in a heated moment, I said whatever I did. If am charged for it and the court asks me for a defence, I have nothing to say to justify whatever I said. I am quite ashamed of what I said as I have nothing but tremendous respect for our men in uniform. My father was in the army, my brother-in-law was in the army and when I was a young boy, I had also dreamed of joining the Indian Army. If I am to be punished for my statement, so be it.”

Puri’s comment had caused many celebs, including some of his peers, to lambast him for his statement on social media.
