Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul is out 6 weeks after sports hernia surgery

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is out for six weeks after having surgery to repair a sports hernia. Pierre-Paul will miss the remainder of the regular season, putting his availability in jeopardy should the Giants make the playoffs. Pierre-Paul was injured in a 24–14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. At 8-4, the Giants are currently the fifth seed in the NFC, the first Wild Card. Pierre-Paul’s injury comes with a primetime game against the Cowboys this week
