A playback of Jayalalithaa's movies that mirrored her versatility

The iron-lady of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa has breathed her last after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. The 68-year-old, known to her supporters as “Amma”, starred in more than 150 movies before becoming a titanic figure in the state’s politics and serving as chief minister six times. She began her career as a female lead when she was just 15 with Kannada film Chinnada Gombe in 1964. While she was paired opposite legendary actors like MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan in Tamil cinema, Jayalalithaa spread her wings in Telugu industry acting in over 30 movies. In fact, her first Telugu film Manushulu Mamathaluin (1965) won the National Award for best feature film. Jayalalithaa did Epistle- the only English movie during her entire career.
