George R. R. Martin confirms 'The Winds of Winter' will be a depressing book

'Game of Thrones' creator George R. R. Martin delivered another crushing blow during a Q & A on Monday. "You know, it is called The Winds of Winter, and I've been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. And winter's the time when things die, and you know... cold, and ice, and darkness fills the world." 'The Winds of Winter', Martin's sixth book in his hit series 'A Song of Fire and Ice', has been in the works for five years and has yet to be given a release date.
