Nationals appear unlikely to retain Bryce Harper past 2018

The Nationals aren't expecting their star outfielder Bryce Harper to be back with the club after 2018. According to an anonymous source, who spoke with USA Today, the team isn't inclined to adhere to Harper's demands for a record 10-year, $400 million contract. Outside of that offer, agent Scott Boras says the only active negotiations of late have involved a one-year deal in 2017.
