Rockefeller Center tree lights up for the 2016 season!

Tens of thousands gathered for the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony, in New York on Wednesday. The ceremony was broadcast live on NBC with a slew of star studded performances, including Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, leading up to the moment 50 thousand lights came to life. Mayor Bill DeBlasio, actors Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon were on hand to light the 94 foot Norway spruce. The Rockefeller Center Tree has been a main staple of Christmas in New York City since the Great Depression, the with hundreds of thousands people visiting the tree while it's on display.
