The New York Mets have reportedly re-signed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to a four-year, $110 million deal after Cespedes opted out of his previous contract with the team earlier this offseason. The Mets had previously signed Cespedes last summer to a three-year, $75 million deal that gave Cespedes the option to opt out after the first season and collect $27.5 million. In the 2016 season, Cespedes, 31, hit .280 and led the Mets with 31 home runs and 86 RBIs. He was also selected to the All-Star Game but missed out due to injury. Cespedes has been with the Mets since joining the team from the Detroit Tigers in the middle of the 2015 season.
